Drop-In Preschool Playschool group started For Children Ages 0-5 and their parents & caregivers.
2007
Concert series partnership formed with Allen Adrien Productions to produce concerts in the Turenne Auditorium on a regular basis.
2006
Monkey Dance Productions films sequences for Walt Disney's
THE GAME PLAN at the Framingham
Civic League in September. The administration building was briefly turned into
the Boston School of Ballet and the Turenne auditorium (after
a much needed face-lift) became the dance studio. Dwayne "the Rock"
Johnson is one of the stars of this movie that opened September 28th, 2007.
Watch for several FCT members
who served as extras!
Roof repairs completed on the Dennison Building in October.
October 17th - BINGO offered to the community - every Tuesday night at
7pm - games
discontinued in October 2007.
2005
Framingham Community Theater is reborn. First meeting May 17th. First production: A MURDER MYSTERY - Dinner Theater held in December.
2001
The auditorium was named "Turenne Auditorium" in recognition of Mrs. Mildred B. Turenne's support.
2000
FCL and American Red Cross join forces in partnership to offer the Saturday Meals Program.
FCL enters into
a 3-year agreement (extended until 2006)
with the YMCA to provide its programs out of the FCL facility.
1993
FCL starts offering Saturday Meals Program to the homeless and low income individuals and families.
1991
Mildred B. Turenne donates $1,000,000 to FCL through a 10 year Charitable Fund Trust.
1989
Capital Campaign launched to raise $500,000 to renovate the facility. Avery Dennison Challenge Grant of $100,000 if League can raise $200,000.
1980
Local citizens save FCL from impending sale.
1968
Name changed back to Framingham Civic League.
1961
Selma B. Stone donated 18+ acres in north Framingham known as "Stonehaven" for FCL programs.
1956
Name changed to Framingham Community Recreation Center, Inc.
1928
The Civic League Players hold their first production in the Auditorium.
1928
The Dennison Building is completed and includes an auditorium, lower hall and kitchen.
1925
Dennison Manufacturing Company donates land and helps to build the Dennison Building.
1921
Swimming pool is closed due to high operating costs and gymnasium is constructed in its place.
1918
Meeting rooms, offices and swimming pool are constructed at 214 Concord Street.
1916
The FCL Corporation is formed with 16 members including: Henry Dennison, Halliday Oaks, Nathaniel Bowditch and James McGrath, among others.
1913
Local citizens meet with interest in child welfare, public health, soldiers and sailors assistance and finding a way to help people in need.
